iMovie Trailer
February 8, 2018
When my Ed. Tech. Instructor first explained to us that making a trailer was going to require lots of pictures, she was not kidding. My partner Marisol and I chose a template that we thought would go well with our topic of Martin Luther King Jr. but we didn’t realize how many slots we’d have to fill. To our dismay, there were quite a few (more than just a few) but in the end it was fine because it worked out perfectly. Obviously in order to start making your own lovely trailers you have to get the iMovie app downloaded from the App Store. I’d first like to point out that the templates for the iMovie Trailers are very user friendly which is a good thing! It means that our students should be able to get the hang of the app fairly quickly (right?). Anyway, my partner and I were able to find several images on Google of/about MLK Jr. which we saved and then uploaded into our trailer. The background music that was a part of the particular template we chose was perfect for our topic because it was a little more somber in tone which as we all know the story, it didn’t end well for him. Overall, both my partner and I’s experience in making the trailer was fairly smooth and easy and I can definitely say that I am completely satisfied with our results and on account of this wonderful experience, I will be sure to incorporate a project like this in my future classroom. This would be a really great way to end a unit on a novel we have been reading because it would allow them to surf the web for images they associate with the book and make like a teaser to show their other classmates to inspire them to read the book too! |
